Marja Riihelä

Senior researcher Marja Riihelä has focused her research on the issues of economic inequality. The studies deal with income and wealth differences and the factors behind them. Recent studies relate to the income persistence in different parts of the income distribution, particularly the persistence of poverty and persistence at the top of the distribution. She defended his PhD in economics at Tampere University in 2009.
