Jukka Pirttilä is a Professor of Public Economics at the University of Helsinki and the VATT Institute for Economic Research. Pirttilä started in this role in the autumn of 2018.
Pirttilä’s research deals with optimal taxation, empirical analysis of tax systems, and taxation and social protection in developing countries.
Pirttilä is member of Finland's Economic Policy Council, a Senior Non-Resident Research Fellow at UNU-WIDER and a Fellow of CESIfo.
