Annika Nivala

Annika Nivala is a postdotocral researcher at VATT studying firm responses to tax and subsidy policies. Her research focuses on public and labor economics, especially effectiveness of public policy. In her recent work, she has studied for example effects of a subsidy for hiring the first employee and the effects of firm tax audits on firm tax filing.

Annika Nivala received her PhD from the University of Turku in 2021. In addition to VATT, she has worked at Labour Institute for Economic Research Labore and University of Turku. She has visited London School of Economics.
