Aliisa Koivisto’s research focuses on public economics, particularly in examining the effects of various policy measures on the outcomes for firms and individuals. In her projects, she has studied the impact of business taxation as well as the effects of the household tax credit on the demand and supply of services, among other things. 

Aliisa earned her doctorate at the University of Helsinki in 2021. She has previously worked at the Bank of Finland and at United Nations World Institute for Economic Research (UNU-WIDER). 

Aliisa is spending the academic year 2025–2026 as a Yrjö Jansson postdoctoral fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
