Essays on education, personality and the labor market
Date of project : 2022 - 2023
In this project, I work on transforming the chapters of my dissertation into scientific publications.
The first two chapters deal with the relationship between personality traits and success in education and the labor market. The first chapter describes the contrast between which personality traits help to succeed in school and what is valued in the labor market. The manuscript of this chapter is under revision at the Journal of Labor Economics. The second chapter investigates the importance of personality traits in adapting to unexpected transitions in working life, particularly in the context of mass layoffs. The final essay describes the selection of primary school teachers in Finland.
