Industrial policy, labour market and growth
The research project examines the impacts of innovation and industrial policy and regulation on the business sector and labour market.
The questions the project aims to answer include the following: 1) How tax incentives and business subsidies affect innovation, R&D investments and productivity, 2) How regional business sector support measures affect employment and business location, and 3) How investment aids and regulation affect company profitability, employment, investments and productivity development. The themes examined in the sub-projects of the research project include the impacts of Business Finland's innovation grants and national investment aids. With regard to Tekes support, particular attention is focused on the impacts of subsidies for young companies on innovation outputs, which are measured by such metrics as patent numbers.
