Climate policy incentive mechanisms
Date of project : 2018 - 2023
The development and deployment of new energy solutions are a precondition for reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The costs of new energy technologies are associated with a great deal of uncertainty. This hampers the setting of climate policy goals and selection of policy instruments.
The focus areas of this study include the use of various auction and incentive mechanisms for disseminating information as a policy instrument for reducing emissions. In addition, the study assesses climate change mitigation innovations in the light of patent data.
