Energy investments in detached houses

This project looks at investments into energy efficiency in the housing stock, especially in new detached houses.

The analyses are based on register data on new detached houses and house owners combined with local electricity prices, building energy performance certificates and information on sales prices. So far, the project has produced research on the impact of electricity prices on heating technology choice in new detached houses and on households’ willingness to pay for heating cost savings in the form of higher initial costs when installing the heating system. Future research will look at how energy efficiency capitalizes into house prices and how heating technology choices are impacted by ownership type.
