VATT day 2021 will be organized as an online seminar on 1st October 2021 at 13.00 with the theme labour market and employment. The seminar focuses on measures to increase employment.
30 years of labour market research
The theme of the VATT day 2021 is labour market and employment. Labour market research has been an important area of research at VATT since the center was established in the midst of a deep recession 30 years ago. Although VATT's research activities and expertise have expanded over the years to cover many areas of applied economics, the labour market and employment have remained at the heart of our research and relevant.
Domestic and international applied economic research will also be at the center of VATT day 2021 - for 30 years now VATT has brought economic research and expertise to support decision-making.
Key note speakers
The keynote speakers at the seminar will be Professors Andrea Weber from the Central European University, Oskar Nordström Skans from Uppsala University and Markus Jäntti from Stockholm University.
VATT's labour market research will be presented by Research Professor Tuomas Pekkarinen, who acts as VATT's research supervisor in the research theme of labour market and education. Chief Researcher Jouko Verho and Chief Researcher Hanna Pesola present the current research results of VATT's labour market research.
Participation
VATT day 2021 seminar will be held on Friday 1.10.2021 at 13.00-15.30 and will be streamed.
