Tuuli Paukkeri is a researcher at the VATT Institute for Economic Research. She is currently finalizing her PhD thesis in economics at the Aalto University School of Business.
Paukkeri has specialized in Finnish social benefits. She is currently doing research on social assistance and guarantee pension benefits as well as disability pensions, drawing on detailed Finnish register data. She is also researching the scope for tax and transfer systems to reduce poverty, especially in poorer countries.
Paukkeri has worked at VATT since the spring of 2016, but has been involved in VATT’s research projects on disability pensions earlier as well. Between 2011–2015 she was a research assistant at UNU-WIDER in Helsinki.
