Elias Einiö is a Chief Researcher at the VATT. His research interests are in the fields of economics of innovation, public economics, and labor economics. 

A main line of his research focuses on policies targeted to companies. In this strand of research, he has evaluated the impacts of subsidies and tax incentives on innovation, growth, and employment. In his current research, he also examines the importance of knowledge and social spillovers for innovation and labor market outcomes.
