Janne Niemi has been a researcher at VATT since 2007. His area of specialization includes computational general equilibrium models in international trade. He also has experience conducting research on climate, energy, agriculture and development policy. Prior to VATT Janne worked in research and policy analysis roles at the Helsinki School of Economics, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland.
Janne holds an MSc in economics from the Helsinki School of Economics, a Master’s degree from Toulouse Business School and a BA from the University of Helsinki. He is currently completing his PhD in international trade and development at Aalto University School of Business.
